edit: thanks for the input, ny'all! ended up swinging for a ugreen usb-c->3.5mm adapter. i've already been using the lightning variant on my iphone for about a year now and it's been really solid ;p

@frssoft if i ran a service that had a feature which automatically hits you with hammers, you might be upset to find that you have to specifically ask to not be hit with hammers. you might rather being made aware of this feature ahead of time, and only be hit with hammers when you explicitly request it.
