@labtoast indeed! and AVIF in particular is really, really fantastic at its job. if it's aware of the AV1 format at all, that provides the underlying image compression for AVIF! phenomenal compression/quality compared to GIF.

we need a shorthand, format-independent term to describe animated image formats like GIF, AVIF, and APNG

most people colloquially bundle these into GIFs but that erases the like, two decades of innovation that has succeeded GIF in other formats.

and we can't call them "moving pictures", because i can't take any more back pain

@frawst i'm not a huge fan of people sharing the full work(s) off-platform, but yeah, doing so without a link is insult to injury. everyone with the capacity to post also has the capacity to image search, and anyone who says otherwise is just too damn lazy to learn for two seconds

@arctic silicone tray, supports up to four ice balls. it opens up at the middle (see the ring around the centre) so you can get the ice out. the "flared base" is from the inlet hole where you fill it with water before putting it in the freezer :>
