to be clear, you should keep using E2EE for DMs. but for most regular server rooms, it's wildly unnecessary. it breaks context for new members and frequently falls apart for existing ones who don't wear their room keys on their wrist
if you're making a space, just disable E2EE. you'll be fine ;p
