re: anti-AI counter-counter-argument
@sigmasternchen my workplace has, like many software companies these days, strongly encouraged the use of AI tools.every single time i've used them, i've been disappointed. and upset at both the time and resources that were wasted to generate this useless slop.
i haven't even used it to write code (thankfully, we're not necessarily instructed to do that specifically), but i have used it to try and explain dense and tightly-woven codebases. at best, it was effective at sending me down pointless rabbit holes when my mind isn't running 100%. at worst, i would have been better off consulting tea leaves.
when i am actually all there, i run circles around AI in terms of quality output. i put great care into making sure my code is responsible, clear, understandable, and accurately solves the problem at hand. AI's supposed metric against me is...it's faster?
i don't know how some people actually claim to make complete software with AI. at this point, i'm convinced they're just trying to gaslight the public for shits and giggles.
