i think the ugly root of the problem is that trans people are made to be Terrified of being around children. because to some very mentally ill cishets, a queer person's mere presence around a child is, somehow, inherently predatory.
i don't hate children, but this rhetoric has made me fearful to the point of anger at the idea of being anywhere near someone under 18. mission failed successfully, i guess.
