anyways thanks to everyone that was Actually Normal during that little discussion and decided not to dogpile on someone who's poured their heart and soul out so that thousands of people can continue having a wonderful experience on this platform
re: eupol, violence against immigrants@0x4d6165 i find that the pride of a nation tends to be proportional to the awful tragic shit it's been involved in
for example: ireland was mostly a victim to early imperialism. i people i hear saying "i love my country!!" are dripping with sarcasm LOL
the more prideful a nation gets, the more it thinks it can get away with
re: eupol, violence against immigrants@0x4d6165 human history is a bit bleak in some respects. we can only do what we can to improve things going forward.
@0x4d6165 can concur as a european- our country has been pushing billions into supporting immigrants after years of neglecting its existing citizens, and now a bunch of weird racists have pushed the narrative that those two things are somehow related. the discourse around immigration here is a cognitohazard.
like, no, our government sucked long before we started taking in refugees. read a book
@alice@julia not the angle i was going for; apologies if it came off that way! i'm not applying moral judgement to what you do with your own money- the economy is in shambles and you are within your right to spend it how you want. i'm just saying it's also not gonna solve the problem in the way you want. my argument is purely practical. take that as you will!
nazi government takeover society molded by corporations for corporations home of the planet is on fucking fire in america if you are transgender they confiscate your passport
