re: anti-AI counter-counter-argument @sigmasternchen my workplace has, like many software companies these days, strongly encouraged the use of AI tools.

every single time i've used them, i've been disappointed. and upset at both the time and resources that were wasted to generate this useless slop.

i haven't even used it to write code (thankfully, we're not necessarily instructed to do that specifically), but i have used it to try and explain dense and tightly-woven codebases. at best, it was effective at sending me down pointless rabbit holes when my mind isn't running 100%. at worst, i would have been better off consulting tea leaves.

when i am actually all there, i run circles around AI in terms of quality output. i put great care into making sure my code is responsible, clear, understandable, and accurately solves the problem at hand. AI's supposed metric against me is...it's faster?

i don't know how some people actually claim to make complete software with AI. at this point, i'm convinced they're just trying to gaslight the public for shits and giggles.

@buge i basically only ever use it for sidechaining in my projects (hooked up to a midi trigger). but it's been pretty reliable for doing exactly that, so i'm happy with it!

accounts that just repost art from other people really give me an ick. even if i adore the art- no, especially if i adore the art -i most certainly want to see it posted by the original artist. copy-pasting someone else's hard work like that is just sloppy engagement farming.

"but the artist only posts on twitter!!" damn, that sucks. still don't like you stealing their work for likes, though. perhaps you could politely ask the artist to share their art here so you can boost it.

failing that, i must inform you that you still do not have the right to repost their art.

consider this a rule of thumb if any of y'all wanna share my work off-platform: link it! if that's not ideal, politely ask me to share on the platform of your choosing. can't guarantee i'll be active, but i'm unlikely to turn down free exposure

except for twitter, that app can rot ;p
