@natty had this come up already, and hard to disagree. i'll admit i've not used AI models to generate alt text, even experimentally. i was just spitballing so i had an example. alternatives include stitching together accessibility info within the current frame using system APIs

@natty totally get metadata-stripping for privacy, though i've looked into this before and cannot find a single metadata field that is common/compatible across all major image formats

@violetpixel the alt property is about as close as we get, honestly. my issue is that this would have to be integrated in some way by the platform and/or manually added by the uploader. my suggestion would be for all major image formats to include an alt text metadata field that could then be easily pulled for use in accessibility tags
